Enhancing the health care of Hispanic women and children from farmworker communities
A multi-media workshop to:
  • to better serve those from the farmworking community
  • improve birth outcomes
  • encourage continuation of care
  • increase compliance with clinical recommendations
Who is the farmworker woman?

Come learn about her home country, migration, concepts of health, food traditions, work experiences and her role in the community.

Workshop Goals:
  1. Enhance provider understanding of the realities of Hispanic women from farmworker communities in order to increase early entry into prenatal care and other medical services.
  2. Improve client/patient communication through provider understanding of farmworker culture and Hispanic beliefs related to Women's health, perceptions of pregnancy and reproduction.
  3. Highlight the important role of family relations and inter-personal relations in medical treatment.
